WhatsApp’s latest iOS stable update (version 23.16.78) brings exciting new features like video messaging and screen sharing during video calls.
These features were previously announced and are now being rolled out to users broadly.
This enhancement provides users with a more authentic and personalized way of communicating while maintaining privacy and security through end-to-end encryption.
How can I send a video message?
To send a video message, simply tap the microphone button in chat, switch to video mode, and hold to record.
Like recording a voice memo, swipe up to lock the recording for hands-free use.
Video messages are instantly shareable, offering a more authentic and spontaneous experience.
Unlike normal video, video messages can be up to 60 seconds long.
Screen sharing feature enhances video calling experience
Speaking of another notable feature in the latest iOS update, the screen sharing option is a huge enhancement to video calling, allowing participants to share their screen with others during a conversation.
This feature is accessible via the “Screen Share” button during a video call. You can choose to share a specific app or share your entire screen.
More users will have access to the feature soon
The latest iOS update is now available on the App Store. However, some users may receive these features in the coming weeks, as noted in the official changelog.
We recommend updating WhatsApp regularly via the App Store and the TestFlight app (for beta users) to ensure access to new features, security updates, and bug fixes.
