CHARLOTTESVILLE, Virginia – The Virginia Athletics Department, in partnership with Playfly Sports and WMT Digital, has announced an update with a new look and added functionality to the Virginia Sports mobile app.

Since its launch, more than 50,000 fans have downloaded the app.

The enhanced app serves as a one-stop shop for UVA fans to follow their favorite teams, manage tickets, track live scores, tune in to audio broadcasts, watch the latest videos and more.

“Our long-standing partnership with UVA and the athletic department goes beyond traditional multimedia rights to connect them with the best industry partners who help create more value,” said Christy Hedgpeth, President of Playfly Sports Properties. “WMT has a proven ability to provide a better experience for fans, and we look forward to working with their team to bring a brand new app to life for UVA fans everywhere.”

“WMT is truly grateful that Virginia leadership has entrusted us to expand their digital portfolio with a new mobile app,” said Andres Focil, CEO of WMT Digital. “Carla Williams and her team are effectively leaning on forward-thinking digital strategies to best serve the Cavalier fan base.”

The Virginia Sports mobile app will continue to roll out additional features over the coming months. Some of them will be designed to provide users with a tailored experience.

Current users of the Virginia Sports app, iOS and Android, should go to their device’s app store and install the most recent version of the app. Once the update is installed, users will automatically experience the improved app.

Users of the new Virginia Sports mobile app simply need to visit the iOS App Store or Google Play Store, search for “Virginia Sports,” to download the latest version of the app.
