Telegram teases visionOS app with immersive videos and AR stickers

The popular messaging app Telegram is available on various platforms including iOS, macOS, Android, and Windows. Soon, Apple Vision Pro owners will also be able to access their Telegram using the new visionOS app, as shown in a teaser shared on Tuesday.
Telegram to release visionOS app for Apple Vision Pro
This teaser, shared by Telegram CEO Pavel Durov on his personal channel, shows how the app will look on Apple Vision Pro. Based on the images, Telegram has confirmed that the app follows all visionOS design guidelines. The apps are all translucent, so the user can get a sense of depth when using Telegram with Vision Pro.
Instead of a traditional tab bar, Telegram forvisionOS has a sidebar for quick access to contacts, calls, chats, and settings. Users can expect all the same features available on Telegram for iOS, such as media, audio messages, and even the newly introduced Stories.
The teaser also sees an immersive video player and animated AR stickers that break through the borders of the app window and fill the entire view. Messages can be sent using Siri dictation or the system’s virtual keyboard. You can watch the teaser here.
There are no details about the app at this time, but considering Vision Pro is expected to hit US shelves in early 2024, Telegram still has time to get its visionOS app ready for release next year. Developers can download the visionOS SDK to build apps for Vision Pro. Apple has invited several developers to try out the new hardware ahead of the official launch.
Telegram for iOS is available for free from the App Store.
