Although you can’t run Windows through Boot Camp on your Apple Silicon Mac, there are still ways to run Windows apps on your Mac. However, you can now do the same on your iPhone or iPad using the new official Windows app.
Microsoft’s new app – currently available in beta – lets you run a remote Windows PC and stream the output to your Apple device.
Run Windows on your Mac, iPad, or iPhone
Intel Macs use Apple’s Boot Camp feature to install Windows directly on your Mac and run it alongside macOS. That’s not possible with Apple Silicon Macs.
There are still many ways to run Windows apps on your Mac, including Parallels Desktop and Crossover. But the new Windows app brings the same functionality to your iPhone and iPad, as well as the web version.
This app allows you to access one or more physical Windows PCs and virtual Windows PCs. WindowsCentral I will report.

This app is currently available in preview and allows you to link Windows 365, Azure Virtual Desktop, or Microsoft Dev Box PCs (…)
The new app acts as a customizable home screen that incorporates all of Microsoft’s current cloud PC services, as well as remote desktop and RDP connectivity. Supports multi-monitor setups, custom display resolutions, dynamic display resolution and scaling, peripheral redirection, and more.
Macs are not mentioned in this report, but Microsoft’s announcement confirms support.
Windows apps are available for Windows, macOS, iOS, iPadOS, and web browsers.
The Windows option is probably for PC users who need occasional access to a more powerful machine or who need to share the use of a remote machine with other users.
Gaining access
This app is in beta and can only be accessed via TestFlight. Access to Mac, iOS, and iPadOS is first-come, first-served, according to Microsoft.
What I’m using during preview is test flight Apple has a capacity limit. Participation will be on a first-come, first-served basis. If you are approved to participate in a preview from TestFlight, we may not be able to accommodate you for the entire period. Due to limited space, we may rotate participants to reach a broader testing audience, so if we are not at capacity at this time, you may be able to attend a preview at a later date. .
