We know. You say to yourself, “Self, BocaNewsNow.com is seemingly updating the web 24/7 and it looks great. Why do I need an app? They must follow me abroad.’ It’s a legitimate question. Here’s the answer:
First, you are not tracked abroad – at least not by us and you certainly have nothing to do with BocaNewsNow.com. If you’ve done something abroad that causes you to be tracked, that’s your responsibility, but it sounds newsworthy and we’d like to know what’s going on. Regarding our app: nothing changes online. But the app gives you the ability to access our content faster and it gives us the ability to send you silent alerts when something big happens. When I-95 closes. When a school is evacuated. When a major event, crisis or weather alert occurs, we want to strengthen our reputation to report it immediately. While tens of thousands of you subscribe to our emails, they often take several minutes to send. An in-app notification, just like you get from other services, is instant. It will appear on your phone. What you do with it is up to you.
