Small and fast application for viewing documents in Open Document Format (OpenOffice, LibreOffice) and OOXML (Microsoft Office). It can open office productivity application documents, such as text files, spreadsheets, or presentations, that reside in the file system, such as on an SD card, as well as downloaded documents, files on Dropbox, Box, or document files attached to an email.
Additional features:
– zoom in and out on documents
– search in documents
– find documents containing certain words through a full text search across all text documents (requires Android 2.3 or higher)
– copy text from documents
– Read aloud text documents (.odt, .sxw, .docx, .doc) via Android’s text-to-speech functionality
– print documents via Google Cloud Print
– day/night mode (requires Android 4.0 or higher)
The following file formats are currently supported:
– OpenOffice 2.x, 3.x, 4.x and Libre Office Open Document formats: .odt (Writer), .ods (Calc), .odp (Impress)
– OpenOffice 1.x formats: .sxw (Writer), .sxc (Calc) (no support for embedded images)
– Microsoft Office 2007 formats: .docx (Word), .xlsx (Excel, plain cell values only), .pptx (Powerpoint)
– Microsoft Office 97 formats: .doc (Word, plain text extraction only), .xls (Excel, plain cell values only)
– PDF (experimental on Android 4.4 and below, must be activated in the app settings)
– Other formats: RTF, HTML, .txt (plain text), .csv (comma-separated values), .tsv (tab-separated values)
Please note that there are some restrictions on viewing documents:
– Displaying the documents is done through a conversion to HTML, which will make the document look different than when viewed with a desktop office productivity application
– Opening large spreadsheet documents can take some time, if not at all
– When displaying images, only those images whose image format is supported by the Android browser are displayed
– Password-protected Microsoft Office documents cannot be opened
