New Windows apps are coming to your iPhone or MacBook – but there’s a catch.

A new Windows app is now available on iOS and macOS, revealing Microsoft’s conquest-minded plans to expand its reach to other platforms and devices.

according to For The Verge, the app acts as a “central hub” for streaming multiple Microsoft accounts, including Windows 365, to your iDevice. However, this app is currently in preview and you will need to download TestFlight to try it out.

How to access new Windows apps on your iPhone or MacBook

Interested in a new Windows app? You can test it by following these steps.

  1. Download the TestFlight app from the Apple App Store.

  2. Install Windows Apps Mobile.

  3. Finally, once you launch the app, tap on “Account”.

  4. Enter your Microsoft credentials and enjoy your copy of Windows on your iPhone.

Here’s the problem. As of this writing, new Windows apps can only access the following services:

  • Windows 365

  • Azure virtual desktop

  • microsoft development box

  • remote desktop services

You can also stream a copy of Windows from a remote PC, but the short answer is that the new Windows app doesn’t support consumer accounts. However, there are signs that this may change soon.As the Verge As noted, there is a sign-in prompt within the Windows app that allows you to use your personal Microsoft account, but it is currently not working.

Windows app previews are available on iOS and macOS, as well as iPadOS and web browsers.
