Incoming calls get a major upgrade
The Phone app is essential to the iPhone experience, and it’s receiving a big update that makes important calls even more visible. Contact posters can be customized with photos, Memoji, and beautiful treatments of eye-catching typography and font colors.
Live voicemail provides a real-time transcription when someone leaves a voicemail, giving users the opportunity to respond while the caller leaves a message. Powered by the Neural Engine, live voicemail transcriptions are processed on-device and remain private. When you enable the Silence Unknown Callers feature, unknown numbers are forwarded directly to Live Voicemail, and calls identified as spam by your carrier are instantly rejected.
A new way to enjoy FaceTime
Users can now leave a video or audio message on FaceTime to capture exactly what they want to say when the person they call is unavailable. FaceTime calls become more expressive with reactions like hearts, balloons, fireworks, and laser beams that can be activated with a simple gesture. It’s also available with supported third-party video conferencing apps, such as Cisco’s Zoom and his Webex.
FaceTime now has a great connected experience with Apple TV 4K. To see your friends and family on the big screen, you can use Continuity Camera to start his FaceTime call on your iPhone and pass it to your Apple TV, or you can start a FaceTime call directly from your Apple TV. Center Stage allows users to maintain a perfect frame as they move around the room.

Check-in, a key feature built into Messages, allows users to notify family and friends that they have safely arrived at their destination. Once a user starts checking in, a notification will be automatically sent to their contacts as soon as they arrive. When you are not proceeding toward your destination, useful information such as your device’s location, battery level, and cell service status is temporarily shared with selected contacts in a secure and private manner.

Night mode adapts standby to low light, giving your clock, photos, and widgets a beautiful red hue. When using a MagSafe charger, StandBy remembers the user’s preferred view for his MagSafe charging dock.
