iOS 17.2—Why this could be the best iOS 17 update ever

Apple’s iOS 17.2 is coming soon, bringing lots of great new iPhone features. It’s still early days, but based on what’s been announced so far, iOS 17.2 could be the best iOS 17 update for iPhone to date.
That’s because iOS 17.2 includes new features like contact key confirmation, a journal app, and more. The update will also fix many nasty iPhone bugs and patch important security issues.
Could iOS 17.2 inspire you to upgrade to iOS 17? Here’s everything you need to know about why iOS 17.2 is an iPhone update to watch.
iOS 17.2 includes great contact key validation
Apple’s iOS 17.2 has a very cool new security feature called Contact Key Verification that has no impact on functionality and is accessible to all iPhone users. Contact Key Verification is an update to Apple’s iMessage that prevents attackers from being able to listen to or read your conversations if they compromise your cloud server.
When you upgrade to iOS 17.2, you’ll receive a notification if someone is able to eavesdrop on your conversations. You can use a contact verification code on FaceTime or in person to verify that the person you’re talking to is who they say they are.
Apple’s new iOS 17.2 features are intended to help combat spyware, a growing problem on iPhones, but they also provide an extra layer of protection for those who value security.
Apple has another way to prevent spyware attacks called Lockdown Mode, but it reduces the functionality of your iPhone so much that it becomes virtually unusable.
After upgrading to iOS 17.2, Confirm Contact Key will appear on your iPhone in Settings > Name > Confirm Contact Key and can be toggled to “On.”
iOS 17.2 fixes iPhone bugs
Ever since upgrading to iOS 17, people have been complaining about several bugs on their iPhone, such as Wi-Fi connection issues and the device turning off randomly at night. The iOS 17.2 update is coming soon to the iOS 17 launch. It’s been three months since Apple released new iPhone software. This gave the iPhone maker plenty of time to iron out early bugs and permanently fix them in time for Christmas.
iOS 17.2 includes security fixes
Apple’s iOS 17.2 update also includes security fixes that are more extensive in new versions of Apple’s operating system, as previously discussed. For now, Apple has updated iOS 16 with important fixes, but they don’t cover everything, so iOS 17.2 is the option for security-minded iPhone users.
When will iOS 17.2 arrive?
Apple’s iOS 17.2 update is scheduled to be released in December, so it should arrive in just a few weeks.
In addition to the features already mentioned, iPhone upgrades include enhanced safety features, a new weather widget, changes to Apple Music, and more. There are also hints that iOS 17.2 may allow users to sideload apps, according to 9to5Mac.
