Google Drive homepage has been redesigned with updates in a new Activity section

Google has announced a redesign of the Drive app on Android and iOS devices, allowing you to view uploaded files in a more compact layout in a list format.

Google said in a recent blog post that the new design will allow users to see more recommended files at once, including recently opened, shared, and edited files.

The Drive notification log has been replaced with an activity view section next to Recommended. Google says the Activity section will show you everything that needs your attention, including pending access requests, recent comments, and pending approvals, all in one place.

The new home tab layout is an optional feature, and if a user doesn’t opt in, the Drive app will open in the last tab they used, including the Shares and Files tabs.

The new update is currently available to some Google Workspace customers and users with personal Google Accounts, and will be available to all users in the coming weeks.

Google recently announced that it will start deleting inactive accounts starting in December. If your Google Account has not been used or logged in for at least two years, Company may delete your account and its content, including content in Google Workspace (Gmail, Docs, Drive, Meet, Calendar) and Google Photos. .

Google notes that forgotten or abandoned accounts often rely on old or reused passwords that may have been leaked, do not have two-factor authentication set up, and are not protected by users. We decided to take this step due to the small number of checks.
