Carrot Weather on iOS 17 can now deliver weather updates using your voice

Apple’s iOS 17 update arrived today, and many apps are rolling out updates that support new features. One app that stands out is Carrot Weather, a weather app that provides a cheerful daily weather forecast. The app has released various new features such as voice impersonation feature, weather widget, etc.

Thanks to Apple’s new Personal Voice accessibility feature, which mimics your voice, Carrot now sounds like you when providing weather updates. Personal Voice is primarily designed for people who are at risk of losing the ability to speak. Carrot’s new voice spoofing tool could help these people. Additionally, the feature could be fun for people who can imitate celebrity voices, Carrot app developer Brian Mueller told TechCrunch.

Carrot’s 5.12 update also includes a standby mode display on iPhone, lock screen on iPad, and several weather widgets that can be added to the Apple Watch smart stack. StandBy is a new full-screen experience for iPhone that allows users to hold their device sideways and see information at a glance. Carrot offers widgets that provide jokes, as well as hourly and daily forecast graphs.

Additionally, the Carrot app for Apple Watch has been redesigned for watchOS 10. The main interface now uses a vertical tab view, allowing users to quickly switch between current, hourly, or daily forecasts. Each section is tappable and can be expanded to reveal additional details. Users can also view animated weather maps and customize data points.

For the first time, Carrot is available in 14 languages: Chinese, Czech, Danish, Dutch, Finnish, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Polish, Portuguese, Spanish, and Swedish It is now possible. However, the app’s most infamous Carrot comments are still only available in English.

There’s also a new next-hour radar feature that tracks storm movement 60 minutes into the future. This feature is available in the United States, Canada, Europe, Australia, Japan, and South Korea.
