Blackmagic Design has announced a new iOS camera app for those serious about mobile video production. The best part is that, like the video editing software, the Blackmagic Camera app is free.
of black magic camera The iOS app offers a ton of controls and image processing similar to the brand’s actual professional cameras. This allows users to create his Instagram, YouTube, and TikTok videos with a cinematic, “Hollywood” look.
The app lets you adjust everything, including shutter speed, frame rate, shutter angle, audio levels, ISO, white balance, and which lenses are best suited for multi-camera setups on the iPhone 15 Pro series. All with the tap of a button. Easy-to-understand interface buttons.
To better monitor your recordings, the interface features recording parameters, focus peaking, levels, histogram, and frame guide, all easily accessible with a swipe.
Similar to your phone’s default camera app, you can easily focus by tapping the screen. It can shoot in the standard 16:9 aspect ratio, but since it’s primarily for content shot on mobile, it can also record vertically.
Built for iPhone, you can shoot 4K ProRes video and save it directly to Blackmagic Cloud. It is then synced directly into DaVinci Resolve, allowing seamless editing by you or a designated editor elsewhere. – The app’s chat feature allows for better collaboration. Of course, you can also save the video locally.
The Blackmagic Camera iOS app is available for free download from the Apple App Store in the Philippines and other markets. No word yet on whether it will also be available for Android devices.
