Portables (Apple)

Apple is developing a lower-priced MacBook series to compete with Chromebook models in the education sector, and could launch as early as late 2024, a new report from Taiwan claims. From the report: According to DigiTimes industry sources, Apple will likely launch a new product line to differentiate itself from the company’s existing MacBook Air and Pro series. The exterior will continue to use metal casings, but will be made from “a different material,” and the mechanical parts will cost less, the report claims. The launch timing of the alleged new MacBook series appears to be based on a lack of related activity at Apple’s major suppliers, such as Quanta Computer and Foxconn, making it unlikely that it will launch in the first half of next year.
