Entering drawing data
Entering data for a drawing is done in two ways. The first is to use graphical functions in the DIMENSION and FILTER command menus, or to type commands directly in the command line. The second is to load and edit a drawing file, either from within an AutoCAD session or from another application, such as Microsoft Excel.

Graphical entering of drawing data can be a time-consuming and tedious process. Data is often entered using graphical objects, such as dimensions, filters, annotation styles and text boxes.

To graphically enter data, you first click the Insert tab and then click Graphical Objects to open the tool window containing the appropriate drawing tools. For example, to enter a dimension, you click the “dimension” tool from the dimension panel (found on the Home tab) or the dimension panel itself. I’m trying to understand WCF better, so this may be a really basic question.
I’m creating a WCF service that accepts parameters. The service will then query a table and return the results as a Json string.
So the service is a web service. Now I want to make a call to this web service. When I do this, I’m obviously expecting to receive the Json string. I’m unclear on how this works.
Does the web service actually consume the Json string from the caller and then return the string as a result?
I’m using the Service Reference functionality to add the service to the project, if that makes a difference.
I’m kind of lost.


Yes, the service will consume the request and produce a response. If the service is defined as an SOAP web service, then you’d be specifying the format of the response (e.g. Json) in the request header.
A typical client-side program would make a HTTP request to the web service, passing some parameters in the request. The web service would make the request to the database and return the response.
