THE STORY

THE WORLD

The Lands Between are a legendary fantasy world and are the starting point for the Elden Ring. The Lands Between consists of four different worlds. An Ancient Ruins on the eastern coast, a mesa in the middle of a desert on the western coast, a forest on the southern island, and a sea which divides the southern island and a habitable world. These can be explored by traveling using one of the Runes.

RUNES

Runes are divinities that are obtained through a myriad of methods. Runes can be obtained when you defeat Rune Herds that roam across the Lands Between. Defeating Rune Herds with a certain Rune will grant you a Rune of that Rune.

When the Lands Between are in a state of flux, Rune Herds are also spawned and roam across the Lands Between. Different Rune Herds have different combat techniques and skills. It is possible to earn Runes of mixed types, such as a Rune that is both physical and magical, by defeating those Rune Herds.

The Rune Herds you encounter are divided into three kinds.

Rune Herds that use physical attacks: These Rune Herds have a physical attack that is unique and cannot be ignored, but do not have a movement speed that is above 30% of your own speed. They have a chance to perform a specific attack.

Rune Herds that use magic attacks: These Rune Herds have a magic attack that is unique and do not have a movement speed that is above 30% of your own speed. They have a chance to perform a magic attack.
