original like ted lasso, look, The Morning Show, and more, Apple TV is rapidly gaining traction in the streaming service market thanks to its exclusive partnership with MLS. It can be purchased individually or with one of the Apple One plans. It works fine most of the time, but many people have raised issues accessing their Apple TV on their iPhone or iPad.
A glitch in the Apple TV app can ruin your perfect weekend plans. Since Apple TV shows are not available on other platforms, you can use the steps below to troubleshoot the issue.
1. Check your network connection
First, you need to check the network connection of your iPhone and iPad. Unstable Wi-Fi or mobile data networks can cause streaming glitches. You can enable Airplane Mode temporarily by accessing the Quick Switch from the Control Center on your iPhone or iPad, and then disable it after a while.

If the network bar appears frequently on your iPhone, reset your network settings. Read our dedicated post on the implications of resetting your network settings.
2. Confirm your Apple TV+ subscription
Apple TV requires an active subscription to function. If your subscription expires due to insufficient funds or outdated payment details, you won’t be able to access shows and movies on Apple TV.
step 1: Open the App Store on your iPhone or iPad.
Step 2: Tap your account photo in the upper right corner and select Subscriptions.

Step 3: If Apple TV+ appears in the Inactive section, tap it to renew your plan. Otherwise, the subscription will appear in the (Active) section.

3. Restart the Apple TV app
Please restart the Apple TV app and try again. On iPhone 8 and later models, swipe up from the bottom and hold to open the Recent Apps menu. Swipe up on the Apple TV app to close it completely, then close the app again.

4. Check Apple TV Streaming Options
By default, Apple TV disables streaming over mobile data to save mobile data usage. Adjustments must be made from the Settings app.
step 1: Open the Settings app on your iPhone or iPad and scroll to Apple TV.
Step 2: Toggle between (mobile data) and (use cellular data) to enable from the next menu.

If your iPhone’s Wi-Fi internet speed is slow, change your streaming options. From Apple TV settings, tap Wi-Fi in the Streaming Options section and select Data Saver. Note that Data Saver consumes up to 1 GB per hour while streaming TV shows and movies with the Apple TV app.
5. Disable Low Data Mode
The Apple TV+ service may not work as expected in active low data mode on your iPhone. To disable data saver mode, you need to use the steps below.
step 1: Launch the Settings app on your iPhone (or iPad with a SIM) and select Mobile Services.
Step 2: Select your main SIM and disable the “Low Data Mode” toggle.

6. Turn off your VPN
The system tweaks your iPhone’s IP address when you connect to an active VPN network. Apple TV may detect it as a new location and fail to stream your favorite TV shows and movies. Disable VPN on your phone or iPad and try again.
7. Log back into your Apple account
If your Apple TV isn’t working on your iPhone or iPad, it could be due to an Apple account authentication error.
step 1: Open the Apple TV app on your iPhone or iPad.
Step 2: Tap your profile picture in the upper right corner.
Step 3: Select “Sign out”.

Step 4: Tap Account at the top and enter your email address (Apple Account ID) and password.
8. Reinstall Apple TV
Believe it or not, reinstalling the app often fixes the problem. So reinstall the Apple TV app and try using the app again.
step 1: Press and hold the Apple TV app icon and select Delete App.
Step 2: Tap “Remove app”.

Download the Apple TV app again from the App Store.
9. Check Apple TV Servers
If the Apple TV server is down, you will have problems streaming TV shows and movies. Apple provides a dedicated website for checking the server status of the service. Visit the link below and make sure you see a green indicator next to Apple TV+. If you see an orange or yellow dot, wait while Apple troubleshoots the issue.
10. Update iOS and iPadOS
Apple will update the TV+ app to work properly with the latest iOS and iPadOS versions. Apple TV glitches can occur if your device is using an older iOS or iPadOS. Therefore, it is best to update the respective software versions.
step 1: Open (Settings) on your iPhone or iPad and scroll to (General).
Step 2: Select “Software Update”.

Install the latest software updates on your iPhone or iPad.
Stream your favorite TV shows on Apple TV
If the Apple TV app doesn’t work or crashes, it can quickly ruin your mood. You can switch to the smart TV app, but if you’re still using your iPhone or iPad, use the tricks above to fix the problem in no time.
